This book is a must read if you want some insight on why Trump won the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Obviously, there were many other factors in his "surprising" win, but Hochschild clearly shows why the white Tea Party and conservative South overwhelmingly voted for Donald Trump.

The book was published on September 6, 2016.  If Clinton and the Democratic National Party had read a early draft, and gave it serious thought, they might not have alienated so many of those who voted for Trump.
